Play Ashram at Heart Hollow is open for existing Play Ashram Community members and “new-to-ashram” folks* from June 6th through July 14th, 2024.
The Ashram welcomes open hearted & open minded spiritual seekers and nature lovers - regardless of individual spiritual or religious faith or any experience with “yoga”- to join us seasonally as we create and hold sacred space, close to nature, for the purpose of nourishing and recharging ourselves in a healthy, playful, loving, devotional community.
Be supported in your personal spiritual practice and in reclaiming or deepening your connection to the natural world. Cultivate resiliency and the wisdom and confidence to live more joyfully, compassionately, and intimately with the earth, your work, others, and yourself.
Our 2024 Ashram home is a primitive (off-grid) camp village nestled within four hundred acres of deciduous forests, hollers, spring-fed streams and falls, and open bottom-land, where the foothills of the Appalachian mountains rise above the bluegrass and where deep peace, beauty, grace and creativity abound.
Ashram stay includes:
Breakfast and dinner daily, prepared as a community - mostly vegetarian, seasonal & locally sourced where possible, including eggs & dairy.
Primitive camping at our Heart Hollow Ashram village.
Access to our camp kitchen, outdoor showers, latrine and wifi access point.
Morning meditation and yoga asana.
Space and time to connect with yourself and the natural world.
Occasional group outings/hikes as well as guided activities and opportunities for skill building depending on what staff and ashram community members are present.
Sliding scale donations of $25 - $75 per day.
In our community, we hold the gift economy as an ideal and practice it whenever possible - meaning, when we are able, we offer support generously and, when we need it, we receive support graciously. We depend on those for whom money energy is abundant to "slide up" towards the full cost to help support the sustainability of our community and provide support to those for whom "sliding down" is necessary based on current financial resources. This allows for more fairness, a greater diversity of participants and a richer experience for all. Please consider the value for you and choose a daily fee befitting your current personal circumstances.
*Existing Play Ashram Community members may book stays of any length, at any time during the Open Ashram session. Please review the registration/booking page for full details on how you may schedule a “NEW-TO-ASHRAM” stay.
*For existing community members as well as new-to-ashram folks, we request that you review the most up-to-date version of the Ashram Guidebook prior to your first visit of the 2024 season. It is found on the Play Ashram website, under the “Ashram Life” tab.
