New to ecstatic dance? It may sound intense and intimidating if this is your first experience with it, but it’s actually the most natural and free-form style of dance. At the beginning of the event, we will gather in a circle to set intentions and to establish agreements (like no talking on the dance floor). Then the music will start and each person is on their own to move to the music in whichever way they feel inspired to move. There is no need to dance “with” anyone else, unless you so choose. Maja and Eric have great taste in music and choose tracks that are energizing, inspiring, soulful and/or transformative. After about 90 minutes, and a cool-down track or two, the music will stop and we will have a closing circle with an opportunity to share briefly about your experience, and to witness others sharing as well.

This practice is about expression of how your body and your heart feel, there is no technique or “right” way to dance. It’s perfect for both dancers and non-dancers to explore and express themselves. All movements and emotions are encouraged!

For many of us, ecstatic dance is a key embodiment practice and has paved the way for greater inner freedom. We hope you will join us!
