Welcome to Play Ashram!
We are a community of spiritual seekers and nature lovers who come together seasonally to nourish and recharge ourselves in playful, loving, devotional community. We are unified by the shared language of and dedication to the practices of yoga, and we readily explore other esoteric and Earth based approaches to spiritual realization. We acknowledge the power and importance of curiosity, imagination, play and creativity to guide us on our spiritual journeys. Our mission is simple: To hold sacred space and to provide support, tools and resources for those who seek metaphysical learning, spiritual growth, transformation and alignment with the divine. Thank you for your interest in joining us!
There is a deep cellular relaxation that takes place when we come together in community, live close to the land, set aside the distractions of our busy modern lives and sink into a predictable rhythm of daily spiritual practices. It has the power to shift perspectives, open hearts and minds and elevate our individual and collective consciousness. No matter your personal spiritual path, there is support, perspective and nourishment to be found in ashram living.
In ashram we offer support to ourselves by supporting the whole. We prioritize showing up for morning practice (yoga & meditation) and meals, maintaining our sweet silence until after breakfast each morning, and gathering together to chant our puja around the fire each evening. In addition, everyone performs "seva" or selfless service (pitching in to complete daily tasks and chores such as sweeping common areas after use, gathering fire wood, meal prep & clean-up, assisting with projects on the farm and within the larger Clear Creek community, breakdown after the close of our gathering, etc).
You can visit the "ashram life" page to learn more about what it's like to spend time in our community.
Play Ashram "Living in Yoga" weekend ashram orientation retreats (open to all), “Karma Yoga” open ashram sessions (for ashram “inner circle” community members and their guests) and other “pop-up” ashram style retreats such as “Wild Earth Spirit Camp” take place in the winter, spring, summer and fall at our home location in Disputanta, Kentucky as well as other beautiful, natural and wild places in Kentucky and Tennessee. 2024 marks our 7th year of coming together in loving community to work, learn, play and pray together.
We look forward to welcoming you home!
