“Only full, overhead sun defeats your shadow" - Rumi

“Only full, overhead sun defeats your shadow" - Rumi

The Shadow is everything that we wish not to be.  Because so much of our Self is unconscious, much of the shadow aspects of ourselves are hidden from our conscious view.  But if we can become aware of our Shadow then we can not only defuse its distorting effect on our behaviors and our perceptions of others, we can actually integrate the positive aspects of the Shadow into our lives.  In short, a courageous self-inquiry into your Shadow is part of your personal journey to wholeness.

Join us for an exploration of the unknown areas of your mind.

This  gathering will include an introduction to various aspects of the Shadow, interspersed with emobodied visualizations and other forms of active imagination to assist you in beginning to identify and integrate an aspect of your Shadow.

Please note that this work can be a bit destabilizing. If you are planning to stay for dinner afterwards, there will be the option of receiving and/or giving emotional support to one another in the form of empathic listening. Additionally, it is recommended to plan to have a support person (friend, loved one) on call for the day or so after the experience, as additional feelings may come up for you.

This workshop requires registration in advance, and is offered on a sliding-scale donation basis.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a journal or paper to write on and a pen.

Workshop Fee: Gift Economy/Sliding Scale of $20-$40

*A contribution of $20-$40 is suggested and appreciated and ensures we can continue to offer valuable, community building workshops and events led by gifted and experienced facilitators. This workshop is offered with a suggested sliding scale that we hope makes it accessible to most in our community.  We depend on those in our community for whom money energy is abundant to slide "up" to the full cost and help support those for whom sliding "down" is necessary based on limited financial resources.  This allows for more fairness, a greater diversity of participants and a richer experience for all.  Please consider the value for you and choose the fee befitting your personal circumstances. The suggested sliding scale is: $20-$40.  You have the ability to enter any amount you wish through the donation page. If, even at sliding scale, the cost of the workshop would make it inaccessible for you, please contribute as you are able! Everyone in our community is encouraged to attend regardless of ability to contribute money.
